SAC’s and Stonehenge Photography Competition Now Accepting Submissions

The Society of Arts and Crafts (SAC’s) and Stonehenge Gallery (in Montgomery, Alabama) have opened the call for our 2021 Photography Competition. The “9” photo group and the staff at the Society of Arts and Crafts (SAC’s) and Stonehenge Gallery are organizing this event.

Submission is open to all photographers (professional and amateur), working in all forms of photography. Four categories are offered (color, black and white, alternative process, and manipulation—there is no distinction between digital or film).

There is a $25 entry fee, good for submitting 3 photos. There is no theme for this exhibit. There is no time limit for when you produced your work. We want to elevate photography as fine art. Show us your best.

Awards: best in show, $1,000; best in category, $500 (one award in each of the four categories); and four merit awards, $250 (from any category as decided by the judge).

Sarah Kennel, Ph.D., the curator of photography at the High Museum in Atlanta, will be the judge for this exhibit. Ms. Kennel will give a juror’s talk the following day after the opening reception.

This exhibit will happen! There will be in-person viewing at Stonehenge Gallery. If COVID prevents us from holding an in-person reception, we will hold a virtual reception. One way or the other, we will meet to celebrate and present awards.

We hope you will consider entering this competition. If you know anyone who you think would be interested in this exhibit please ask them to see the website or contact Stonehenge Gallery 401 Cloverdale Rd. Montgomery AL 334-262-8256
