A rainy Saturday gave way to a beautiful late afternoon and evening as friends and family gathered together to celebrate the engagement of Catherine Patterson and Richard Crum on August 3rd. The joyful event took place at the lovely home of Elizabeth and Bart Crum. The happy couple and their parents, Debra and Chris Patterson of Atlanta, and Katherine and Eric Crum of Montgomery greeted guests.

Music by guitarist Cameron Dubois entertained guests as they entered the Crum’s beautiful garden and pool area. Alluring arrangements designed by Susan Scott included roses in shades of pink, apricot and green anchored by white, green, and antique and limelight hydrangeas. A lovely mix of flowers including veronica, snapdragons, thistle, stock and greenery completed the lovely designs, which were beautifully featured throughout the home and on tables scattered around the pool and pool house.

Eric Crum, father of the groom, thanked everyone for being at this special occasion, toasting the couple and expressing his and Katherine’s sincere delight in welcoming a second Catherine into the family. Following Eric’s remarks John Swan offered a heartfelt blessing. Guests were treated to a delicious buffet dinner by Bud Skinner of Jubilee Seafood. All enjoyed menu offerings of beef tenderloin and shrimp étouffée, along with watermelon arugula salad. The hosts made an assortment of their favorite desserts including brownies, key lime tarts and Hello Dollies.
