PRATTVILLE -- St. James put together one of its best performances of the season in sweeping the 7A Lions at Powell Gym, winning 25-14, 25-10 and 25-17 on Monday night.

”Everyone played with so much energy and focus,” St. James coach Karen Lee said. “Many times volleyball is played out of system.  Our defense was solid last night which put our offense in system and our hitters were able to execute in all three sets.”

Kiya Jupiter had a breakout performance with eight kills and a hitting percentage of .500.  She also added a block and three digs.  Danielle Greene had 14 kills with a hitting percentage of .286 as well as four blocks and an assist. Ava Card added 13 kills with a hitting percentage of .321.  She also had an assist and three digs. 

Cam Greene contributed 23 assists, a pair of kills, a block, an ace and five digs, while Veronika Kocian added nine assists and two aces, Kaylin Corley served up five aces, two assists and nine digs, Sierra Boles had four aces, a pair of kills and six digs and Rachel Rice contributed six kills and three digs. Georgeann Killough had a dig.  

St. James (12-8) travels to Walker-Joiner Gym on Tuesday for an area match with Sidney Lanier.
