St. James won both of its Saturday games in its annual Trojan Tip Off Tournament, finishing the tournament with a 2-1 record. The Trojans lost to Geneva in the tournament opener on Friday, but rebounded with wins over Loachapoka and Straughn on Saturday.

St. James 54, Loachapoka 22

KK Hall led the way with 25 points, 19 in the first half, including six 3-pointers in the win over the 1A Indians. Hannah Grace Griggs added nine points.

St. James led 37-15 at halftime and held the Indians scoreless in the fourth quarter. Griggs, Maddox Trumbly and Makenzie Corley each had a 3-pointer to help the team finish with nine.

Taylah Murph and Brianna Jones led Loachapoka with six points each.

St. James 51, Straughn 41

The Trojans trailed entering the final period, but outscored Straughn 24-13 in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. KK Hall had 18 points, including four 3-pointers that gave her 10 for the day. Chelsey Craig added 12 points.

St. James hit 15 of their 21 free throw attempts, including 11 of 14 in the deciding final quarter.

Straughn’s Allie Kelley was the game’s leading scorer with 19 points.

In other games Saturday, Prattville Christian wrapped up play in the tournament with a 3-0 record, blasting Loachapoka 55-15 and Geneva 67-47, while Pell City won twice on Saturday by defeating Straughn 58-27 and Geneva 44-21.

St. James (2-1) travels to Catholic on Tuesday.
