Trinity 6, Marbury 3

Trace Bright went 2 for 3 with a triple and drove in three runs to lead Trinity past Marbury 6-3 on Monday at Jason Armstrong Field.

Trinity rallied from a 1-0 deficit with a run in the bottom half of the first and five more in the second to take care of the Bulldogs. Nolan Sasser went 1 for 3, scoring two runs and driving in another, and Will Aaron went 1 for 2 with a pair of RBIs.

On the mound, the Wildcats got two innings each from Bryson Byrne, Jon Eric Bodin and Coleman Ellis and one inning from Carter Clark.

Trinity (19-7) will play host to Catholic on Thursday at 4 p.m., before traveling to Catholic for a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Friday to complete the best-of-three area series.

Tuscaloosa Academy 12, Tuscaloosa Christian 0

TUSCALOOSA -- Sam Rowley pitched a complete game shutout on Saturday, allowing just two hits, to lead the Knights to a 12-0 rout in a game shortened to five innings by the 10-run mercy rule. The Knights were led at the plate by JP Sanders, Hayden Johnson, and Jordan Evans, each having two hits. Alex Johnson hit his second home run of the season and Patton Steele had three RBIs in the game.

TA hosts Kingswood Christian Monday in a key AAA Region 2 Area 1 matchup.


Prattville Christian Academy 11, Chilton County 0

CLANTON – Carolyn Carter had a grand slam and a solo home run to lead the Panthers to an 11-0 win at Chilton County on Monday.

Landyn McAnnally and McKenzie Montgomery combined for the shutout in the circle. Kathryn Fallen and Madison Hanson each went 3 for 3 and Jersee Carter, Callie McAnnally and Sarah Williams each had two hits.

PCA (24-3) will travel to Montgomery on Thursday for an area game at St. James.

Catholic 5, Carroll 3

TROY – Alanna Aiken went 2 for 3 and drove in three runs to lead Catholic to a 5-3 win in the Charles Henderson Tournament on Saturday.

Aiken singled in a run in the first, then rallied the Knights from a 2-1 deficit in the fourth inning with a two-run home run.

Carissa Gilbert picked up the win in the circle, allowing three runs in three hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.

Catholic 4, Charles Henderson 0

TROY – Chloe Walden, Nikki Walker and Katherine O’Connor all had RBI hits in a three-run third inning and Alanna Aiken pitched four innings of one-hit ball to lead Catholic over the host team in the Charles Henderson Tournament on Saturday.

Aiken struck out three and walked one, allowing only a single in the second inning.

Providence Christian 4, Catholic 2

TROY – Catholic outhit Providence Christian 8-6 but couldn’t manufacture the runs in a 4-2 loss in the Charles Henderson Tournament on Saturday.

McKenzie Norton and Chloe Walden each had two hits to lead the Catholic offense. Alanna Aiken took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits over four innings, striking out one.

Catholic 6, Pike Road 1

TROY – Catholic opened play in the Charles Henderson Tournament with a 6-1 win over the Patriots as Alanna Aiken had a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs in the victory.

Aiken tripled in a run in the first inning and drove in another run as part of a three-run fifth inning, along with Nikki Walker.

Carissa Gilbert allowed just two hits and one run over five innings, striking out 10.


Montgomery Academy 9, Altamont 0

BIRMINGHAM – The Eagles swept Altamont on Wednesday as singles wins were posted by James Torbert, Hamilton Chapman, Alec Chandler, Whit Davis, Guy Hughes and Gaines Freeman. Montgomery Academy swept the doubles competition as well with wins by Torbert-Freeman, Chapman-Chandler and Davis-Hughes.

The Eagles play Trinity on Tuesday and Andalusia on Wednesday.

Montgomery Academy 9, St. James 0

Montgomery Academy swept both the singles and doubles events from the Trojans on Tuesday, with wins in singles from James Torbert, William Robertson, Hamilton Chapman, Alec Chandler, Whit Davis and Guy Hughes and doubles victories by the teams of Torbert-Robertson, Chapman-Chandler and Davis-Hughes.

Montgomery Academy 9, Opelika 0

Montgomery Academy swept Opelika on March 27, getting singles wins from James Torbert, William Robertson, Hamilton Chapman, Alec Chandler, Whit Davis and Guy Hughes. The Eagles completed the sweep with wins by the doubles teams of Torbert-Robertson, Chapman-Chandler and Davis-Hughes.


Prattville Christian 14-14, Ellwood Christian 0-0

PRATTVILLE – Michael McCarty had 11 goals in a pair of wins over Ellwood Christian on Monday night at PCA, both resulting in 14-0 wins by the Panthers.

In the first game, McCarty had five goals and an assist, Trey Barkley added a goal and a pair of assists and Matthew Lisle, Ryan Hatfield and Chase Gay each scored two goals. Jake Davis had two assists. John David Meadows and Connor Sikes each scored a goal and Carson Roberson added an assist.

In the second game, McCarty had six goals and four assists while Ryan Hatfield had three goals and three assists. Trey Barkley added two goals and an assist, Matthew Lisle had two assists and Sasha Scully had a goal and an assist. Austin Eagerton and Joshua Forte each scored one goal. Jake Davis added one assist.

PCA (9-2) remains undefeated in area play with a record of 6-0 and travels to Thomasville on Friday.
