Montgomery Academy 49, Prattville Christian 13

PRATTVILLE -- Thomas Woodward and Judson Lindsey each threw touchdown passes and Jashawn Cooper rushed for a pair of scores as Montgomery Academy cruised to a region victory over Prattville Christian Academy on Friday night.

Woodward passed for 132 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 68 more, while Lindsey passed for 109 yards and a touchdown. Ruston Bassett was on the receiving end of one touchdown pass, accounting for 63 yards, while Alex Kohn had 71 yards receiving and scored the other touchdown. Chance Wilson added 48 yards on receptions.

Jashawn Cooper rushed for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Jamal Cooper had 13 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns, one on the ground and one on a 64-yard punt return. Greer Armstrong added 43 rushing yards.

Defensively for the Eagles, Arch Lee had nine tackles, Parker Cook had five tackles, Will Hardin had three tackles and a sack, Kameron Tuck had a pair of tackles and an interception and Hudson Whitt had four tackles and a fumble recovery.

Montgomery Academy improved to 3-0 in 3A Region 3 play, a half-game ahead of Thomasville at 2-0 and a game ahead of Southside at 2-1. The Eagles (4-1) step out of region play next week, traveling down Vaughn Road to play Catholic on Friday.

Catholic 49, Beulah 0

BEULAH -- The Knights jumped out to a quick lead and rested their starters on the way to a comfortable 49-0 region victory on the road on Friday.

Caleb McCreary was 3 of 4 passing for 170 yards and a pair of touchdowns and added 30 yards on a pair of carries as the Knights had 486 offensive yards in the win.

Jeremiah Cobb had 170 yards on seven carries, gaining 82 more on one reception to finish with 252 total yards, an average of 31.5 yards per touch. His backup, EJ Babies, had 106 yards and a touchdown on five carries.

Defensively, the Knights held Beulah to just 24 total yards. TJ Dudley had eight tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss, while Javen Augustus had five tackles, including three for loss.

Catholic (5-0) remains unbeaten along with Trinity in 3A Region 4, a game ahead of Dadeville and Reeltown. The Knights return home to play host to Montgomery Academy next Friday.

Trinity 52, Pike County 0

BRUNDIDGE -- Chase Letner scored on a pair of runs and Norris Pemberton added a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown as the Wildcats raced out to a 21-point lead in the first quarter and coasted to a region victory over the Bulldogs on Friday night.

Letner had 102 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries, scoring on a 9-yard run the first time he touched the ball on Friday and adding a 22-yard scoring run later in the quarter. Mac McClinton added a 9-yard scoring run and Herbert Wheat scored on a 10-yard run for the Wildcats.

Coleman Stanley attempted just three passes and completed just one, but the 11-yard pass to Luke Pittman resulted in a touchdown. Grayden Flowers added six extra points and a 30-yard field goal in the rout.

Defensively, Chapman Pouncey had five tackles, including two for loss, and Harrison Parkman had five tackles, including a pair of sacks. Harrison Johnson added four tackles and Chayman Wilkins had four tackles and a fumble recovery.

Trinity (5-0) posted its fourth shutout in five games, leading 45-0 at the half. The Wildcats improved to 3-0 in 3A Region 4 play, remaining tied with Catholic atop the region standings, a game ahead of Dadeville and Reeltown. The Wildcats are idle next week before resuming region play on Oct. 1 at Reeltown.

Pike Road 55, Rehobeth 0

PIKE ROAD -- Quinshon Judkins rushed for 120 yards and four touchdowns on nine carries as the Patriots defeated Rehobeth 55-0 on Friday.

Adrian Thornton added a 38-yard scoring run on his only carry and Anthony Rogers had a 10-yard touchdown run, while Iverson Hooks threw 63 yards to Chrishon Crenshaw for a touchdown.

Pike Road blocked two punts and allowed just 57 total yards. Tre’Marcus Webb had a 35-yard interception return for a touchdown, Khurtiss Perry had five tackles, three quarterback pressures and a sack for 16 yards and Brennan Jordan had four tackles and a sack for six yards in the win.

Pike Road (5-0) improved to 3-0 in 5A Region 2 play and took a half-game lead over idle Greenville (2-0) and a one-game lead over Andalusia (2-1) and Carroll (2-1). The Patriots are off next week after canceling their scheduled game with Tallassee and will travel to Troy to play Charles Henderson on Oct. 1.

Tallassee 48, Elmore County 10

TALLASSEE -- Tyler Ellis accounted for 219 yards and Jayln Daniels rushed for three touchdowns as Tallassee snapped a two-game losing streak by beating the Panthers at J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium on Friday night.

Ellis competed 9 of 13 passes for 154 yards, including a 30-yard touchdown pass to Clayten Gough to put the Tigers up 35-3 at the half. Gough had four receptions for 94 yards.

Daniels rushed for 156 yards on 21 carries, scoring on runs of 16, 17 and 3 yards to give Tallassee a 21-3 lead early in the second quarter.

Logan Pack booted a 30-yard field goal for Elmore County to cut the Tallassee lead to 7-3 midway through the first quarter, but the Panthers would get no closer. Payton Stephenson threw a 20-yard pass to Christan Stepney for Elmore County’s only touchdown two minutes into the fourth quarter.

Stephenson was 7 of 22 for 85 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice. He added 78 rushing yards on 17 carries.

J.T. Wilson and Joseph Hooks also had touchdown runs for the Tigers, who had 433 total yards.

Tallassee (2-2) evened its 5A Region 4 record at 1-1, tied with Sylacauga for third and a game and a half behind co-leaders Central-Clay County and Holtville at 3-0. Elmore County (0-5) dropped to 0-3 in region play.

Tallassee canceled next week’s scheduled game with Pike Road and will resume region play at Beauregard on Oct. 1.
