Catholic 61, G.W. Long 30

OZARK -- Justin Bufford had 24 points to lead unbeaten Catholic to an opening round win in a holiday tournament at the Ozark Civic Center on Monday.

Isaiah Kindle and Johntarius Green each had 13 points for the Knights (3-0), which return to action in the tournament on Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Evangel Christian Academy 36, Macon East Academy 34

AUBURN – David Werking’s 15-foot jump shot with 1.3 seconds remaining helped the Lions hand Macon East its first loss of the season on Monday in the Lee-Scott Classic.

Tyree Curry had a game-high 17 points, four assists and four steals for Evangel, followed by Marcus Townsend with eight points, two assists, three steals and four rebounds. The Lions (7-1) will play South Choctaw on Tuesday in their second game in the tournament.

Loachapoka 61, Montgomery Academy 50

James Snead had 10 points and 14 rebounds but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles dropped the season opener in the Montgomery Academy Tipoff Classic at Joe Mooty Court on Monday.

William Norrell led the Eagles with 13 points, along with four steals, and Oliver Bear had 10 points. Montgomery Academy (0-1) will face St. Luke’s Episcopal in the second round of the tournament on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.

Keith 73, Pike Road 66 (OT)

OZARK – Shaun Holmes had 21 points but Keith High rallied in overtime to turn back the Patriots 73-66 in the opening round of the Ozark Thanksgiving Tournament on Monday.

Harrion Wallace added 17 points for the Patriots (1-1), followed by Blake Durham with 16.

Lincoln 82, Prattville Christian 69

SYLACAUGA -- Jacob Comer led the Panthers with 23 points, nine assists and six rebounds in the opening round of a tournament at Sylacauga on Monday.

Carson Roberson added 22 points and four assists, followed by Camron Coleman with 10 points, Coleman Hunter with eight points and four rebounds and Stillman Davis with six points and nine rebounds. Grant Scott grabbed four rebounds for PCA (2-3).

GIRLS

Prattville Christian 57, Calera 27

SYLACAUGA -- Chelsea Mulliner had 18 points and seven rebounds to lead the unbeaten Lady Panthers to an opening round victory in a tournament at Sylacauga on Monday.

Ella Jane Connell added nine points, five rebounds and four assists, while CoCo Thomas scored nine points, Jacey Haynes had eight points and 10 rebounds and Avery Rogers had six points. Tori DeMaio had three points and eight rebounds for PCA, which improved to 5-0 with the win.
