LAMP 62, Alabama Christian 49

Quinn Sloane led a balanced attack with 14 points as the Tigers defeated Alabama Christian 62-49 in a 4A Area 4 game in the LAMP gym on Tuesday night.

Felix McGhee added 12 points and Mitchell Sloane and Conner Lough each had 11 as LAMP (8-11) picked up its first area win at 1-2.

Avery Stuart had 14 points and Jalen Clark added 12 for Alabama Christian, which travels to Catholic on Friday for another area matchup.

LAMP travels to Millbrook on Thursday to play Stanhope Elmore.

Evangel Christian 43, Autauga Academy 42

PRATTVILLE -- Tyree Curry scored 16 points and four assists to lead the Lions to a win at Autauga Academy on Tuesday.

Marcus Townsend added 12 points and five rebounds for the Lions (15-1), which return home to host Springwood School on Thursday.

Pike Road 60, St. James 49

Shaun Holmes scored nine of his 16 points in the first quarter to help the Patriots get off to a quick start in their 3A Area 5 opener at St. James on Tuesday.

Blake Durham added 14 points and Harrison Wallace followed with 11 for Pike Road (14-3), which will play host to Bullock County in another area contest on Friday.

Andrew Sadie had 14 points to lead the Trojans (6-6, 0-2), followed by Bradley Thomas with 13 and Kevin Taylor with 11. St. James travels to LAMP on Friday night.

Bullock County 57, Montgomery Academy 32

Oliver Bear had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the Eagles, but it wasn’t enough in a 57-32 loss to the Hornets in a 3A Area 5 game at Joe Mooty Court on Tuesday night.

William Norrell added seven points and seven rebounds as Montgomery Academy (10-6) dropped to 1-1 in area play. The Eagles travel to Trinity on Friday.

Catholic 66, Trinity 51

Justin Bufford had 26 points, six rebounds, five steals, four blocked shots and seven assists as the Knights won a hard-fought area game against Trinity in the Catholic gym on Tuesday night.

Catholic built a 37-25 halftime lead but could never pull away from the Wildcats. DJ Carter added 14 points, 10 rebounds, five steals and three assists and Johntavius Green had seven points to go with nine steals.

Catholic (16-3) improved to 2-0 in 4A Area 4 play and will play host to Alabama Christian on Friday in another area game.

Prattville Christian 59, Southside-Selma 48

Jacob Comer led the Panthers with 24 points and Coleman Hunter added 13 points and 14 rebounds as Prattville Christian improved to 2-0 in area play with a win over Southside on Tuesday.

Carson Roberson added 12 points for PCA (7-14), while Tillman Makupson had four points and 12 rebounds, Stillman Davis had four points, five rebounds and took three charges and Camron Coleman dished out six assists.

In the junior varsity game, Southside defeated PCA 40-29. Cole Houston led the Panthers (0-9) with nine points and four rebounds, followed by Tanner Byrd with eight points and seven rebounds, Conner Williams with five points and six rebounds and Brady Roberson with five points.

GIRLS

Montgomery Academy 55, Bullock County 16

Gabby Ramirez led a balanced attack with 12 points as the Eagles cruised to a 3A Area 5 rout of Bullock County at Joe Mooty Court on Tuesday night.

Leighton Robertson and Anaya Thomas each added eight points, with Thomas contributing 10 rebounds. Virginia Meacham and Anne Cobern Chapman added six points each as Montgomery Academy (13-3) improved to 2-0 in area play.

The Eagles travel to Trinity on Friday, while Bullock County travels to Pike Road on Friday for another area game.

Pike Road 64, St. James 21

Sakoya Knight scored 20 points to lead the Patriots to a 43-point rout of St. James in a 3A Area 5 game in the St. James gym on Tuesday night.

The taller Patriots controlled the boards and the tempo throughout the night, holding St. James to a total of four field goals in handing the Trojans the worst defeat in the 19-year career of veteran coach Katie Barton.

Pike Road (11-3), whose only losses this year have been to Hazel Green, Lee-Huntsville and G.W. Carver, owned a 20-3 lead at the end of the first quarter and expanded the lead to 30 points at the half.

Knight and Tameria Thomas, who finished with eight points, dominated the glass against the shorter Trojans as Skye Harris added 13 points and Jahkiah Lewis followed with 12 for the Patriots (1-0 in area play), who play host to Bullock County in another area game on Friday.

Seanna Brooks had 13 of the 21 points scored by St. James (9-6, 0-2), which travels to LAMP on Friday.

Trinity 60, Catholic 25

Mary Alice Sasser hit five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 26 points to lead Trinity to an easy 4A Area 4 win over Catholic on Tuesday night.

Maddie Smith added 11 points, six rebounds and six steals, Emma Kate Smith had 10 assists, eight points, seven rebounds and five steals and Rebecca Herndon added nine points as Trinity improved to 2-0 in area play.

“I was very pleased with our tenacity and physicality tonight,” Trinity coach Blake Smith said. “Catholic is a tough team. I wasn’t sure how we would handle their aggression. Our girls responded well. It is an area that we must continue to improve in order to get where we want to go. Mary Alice was the spark tonight that we know she can be. I was so proud for her.”

Catholic (9-3) dropped to 1-1 in area play and will play host to Alabama Christian in another area game on Friday.

Trinity plays host to Montgomery Academy on Friday.

Prattville Christian 48, Southside-Selma 24

PRATTVILLE -- Ella Jane Connell led the Lady Panthers with 13 points, eight assists and five rebounds as PCA reached the 20-win plateau on Tuesday night with a convincing area win.

CoCo Thomas added 13 points and eight rebounds and Chelsea Mulliner had nine points and seven rebounds as Prattville Christian improved to 20-1 overall and 2-0 in area play. Jacey Haynes added eight points, 10 rebounds and four steals, Avery Rogers scored five points, Tori DeMaio grabbed five rebounds and Hannah Jones had four steals for the Lady Panthers.
