Catholic 58, Brewbaker Tech 49

Myles Butler had 18 points to lead three players in double figures as the Knights defeated the 5A Rams on Saturday in the Catholic gym.

DJ Jamerson added 15 points, followed by Patrick Ryan with 11 points.

Catholic (8-5) remains home this week for a pair of area games, playing Montgomery Academy on Tuesday and Trinity on Friday.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Catholic 52, Brewbaker Tech 47

The Knights hit their free throws down the stretch to hold off the 5A Rams 52-47 in the Catholic gym on Saturday.

Catholic had a one-point lead (18-17) at the half and extended it to three points, 34-31, heading into the fourth quarter. They extended the lead on free throws, only to have the Rams trim the deficit to three points in the final 10 seconds before Chloe Walden sealed the win with a pair of free throws.

Julienne Pharrams led the Knights with 16 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while Nona Johnson had nine points, 12 rebounds and a pair of steals. Jamya Henderson came in to spark the Knights in the third quarter, scoring seven of her nine points in the second half. Alanna Aiken, Walden and Harper Howell each added six points for the Knights.

Catholic (10-5) remains home for a pair of area games this week, playing Montgomery Academy on Tuesday and Trinity on Friday.

Meadowview Christian 44, Snook Academy 21

SELMA -- The Trojans closed out the game with a 20-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from Snook on Saturday for their third area win this week.

Patricia Peoples had 13 points and nine rebounds for Meadowview Christian, followed by Kristen Little with seven. Grace Redd had six assists and four rebounds to go with her four points.

The junior varsity girls picked up their third win of the year, beating Snook 25-17.

Meadowview Christian (5-4, 3-0 in area play) faces Russell Christian on Thursday.
