Montgomery Academy 43, Catholic 42
Oliver Bear had 12 points, all in the second half, including a 3-pointer on an assist from Trey Lindsey with 35 seconds left, to help the Eagles hand Catholic their first loss of the season on Friday night in the Catholic gym.
William Norrell added eight points and 10 rebounds for Montgomery Academy (1-3), while Lindsey dished out nine assists and had nine rebounds. Montgomery Academy travels to Trinity tonight.
Derrick Parker and DJ Carter each had 14 points for Catholic (3-1), which plays host to LAMP in a 4A Area 4 game on Tuesday.
Evangel Christian Academy 49, Pike Liberal Arts 40
CECIL -- Jordan Grice had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead Evangel Christian to a tough win against Pike Liberal at the Macon-East Pepsi Classic Tournament on Friday night. David Werking and Aaron Todd both added seven points and Tyree Curry chipped in five points and five assists while Solomon Ayeni and Cordarius Martin each chipped in five points.
The Lions (12-1) advance to the championship game of the tournament today at 6:30 p.m., where they will face the winner of Friday’s Clarke Prep-Macon East game.
Pike Road 64, Highland Home 50
HIGHLAND HOME – Shaun Holmes had 29 points and KJ Westry added 16 to lead the Patriots past the Flying Squadron on Friday night.
Pike Road (5-4) travels to Reeltown on Tuesday.
Prattville Christian 81, Prattville 66
PRATTVILLE -- Cooper Meadows led the Panthers with 24 points and 14 rebounds in their win over the Class 7A Lions on Friday. Ben Segars added 18 points and 10 rebounds and BJ Comer had 19 points and seven assists. Michael McCarty added 11 points for PCA (8-2), which will face Marbury next Thursday in the opening round of the Autauga County Basketball Tournament at Billingsley.
In the junior varsity game, Coleman Hunter had 11 points and 14 rebounds for Prattville Christian as the Panthers fell to Prattville 48-37. Carson Roberson added nine points and Camron Coleman had eight.
Macon East 64, Clarke Prep 37
CECIL – Madisyn Kennedy had 35 points and six rebounds to lead Macon East to the championship game of the Macon East Pepsi Tournament with an easy victory on Friday in the Macon East gym.
Emi Lott added nine points for Macon East (6-0), which will play in the championship game today at 5 p.m.
Montgomery Academy 54, Catholic 22
Leighton Robertson had 15 points, six rebounds and seven steals to lead the Eagles to an easy victory in the Catholic gym on Friday night. Millie Stevenson added 12 points and Margaret Head had seven points, eight rebounds and seven steals.
Montgomery Academy (4-0) plays Trinity tonight.
Prattville Christian 75, Prattville 16
PRATTVILLE -- Kaitlyn Reyes poured in 38 points and came up with seven steals as the Panthers demolished the Class 7A Lions in Powell Gym on Friday night. Ella Jane Connell added 22 points, five assists and five steals and Mary Grace Story dished out nine assists. Tori DeMaio grabbed eight rebounds and CoCo Thomas scored six points for PCA (7-3), which will play Marbury next Thursday in the first round of the Autauga County Basketball Tournament.
