Saint James School’s Selina Sun wins 3rd straight spelling bee

Selina Sun 2018 Saint James Middle School Spelling Bee winner for the 3rd straight year and the first runner-up Tanner Bartgis.

Eighth grade student Selina Sun won the 2018 Saint James Middle School Spelling Bee for the 3rd straight year! She spelled 28 words correctly, and the first runner-up Tanner Bartgis spelled 27 words correctly. The two students battled 17 rounds before Selina won the school’s competition. Selina now advances to the County Spelling Bee in early February – aiming for a repeat win from last year! In fact, Selina has won the Montgomery County Spelling Bee for the last two years – if she wins in February, she will attend the State Spelling Bee three consecutive years!
