This November, Montgomery will have a new urgent care just for children, KidsStreet Urgent Care. Maxus Construction is building a new medical facility featuring two urgent cares in one building, which will be located across from The Montgomery Academy on Vaughn Road. The dual clinic will be home to KidsStreet Urgent Care, which will be open seven days a week to treat patients up to age 16. In addition, the new clinic will house MainStreet Family Care, which will see patients older than 16 and provide occupational health services.
“We are excited and grateful for the opportunity to serve kids and their families in Montgomery,” stated Chief Executive Officer, Sam Eskildsen. “As a father of two myself, I know that kids get sick or injured at the worst times. When everywhere else is closed for the night or pediatricians are booked up, we want to provide parents an alternative to a costly emergency room visit. Our hope is that offering patients the convenience of great care, after-hours with shorter wait times, and same day appointments will help deliver some peace of mind.”
Open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends, KidsStreet Urgent Care aims to provide care when patients need it. Our pediatric providers at KidsStreet will be available to help with everyday illnesses and injuries as well as rapid COVID-19 testing and sports physicals. These walk-in clinics will not only provide treatment for issues like flu and strep throat but will also perform a number of diagnostic tests and minor procedures, such as stitches and foreign object removal. Both clinics will feature multiple exam rooms, on-site lab testing and digital X-ray capabilities to care for sprains, strains, breaks, and fractures. Additionally, MainStreet Family Care delivers a choice of occupational health services such as worker’s compensation management, pre-employment drug testing, and DOT physicals.
Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Timothy “Timbo” Taylor is excited about giving fellow parents another healthcare option when facing the unexpected. “Not only will the state-of-the-art clinic in Montgomery provide quality care that’s specialized for kids, but we also hope the convenient services and friendly staff will make the entire ordeal of being sick or injured a much more pleasant experience for both the parents and the child,” said Taylor.
In addition to a compassionate, pediatric-trained staff, KidsStreet offers a kid-friendly waiting room with magical mess-free coloring kits to prevent children from playing with germ-covered toys. KidsStreet is also the home to the company mascot, Dr. Wags, who can always be seen out at community events, schools and daycares! Furthermore, several commonly prescribed medications are offered on-site, saving you a trip to the pharmacy.
