Dr. LaToya Clark

Dr. LaToya Clark, obstetrician and gynecology at The Jackson Clinic, was recently elected as the new president and chairwoman on Women in Training, Inc. Women in Training is a youth empowerment organization that advocates for menstrual equity, menstrual education, and engages girls and non-binary youth, ages 10 to 18, in community service and social justice.

Dr. Clark, who currently serves as the organizations medical director, will continue in that role and assume the responsibilities as the board’s leader. She will continue the work of previous president Barbara Wells, Esq. after a distinguished year of services.

“I am pleased, honored and excited to lead the board of Women In Training, Inc. into the future as its new president and chairwoman, leveraging my extensive medical education, my talents and my expertise as an OB/GYN with my love of children and my passion for social justice to advance the fight against period poverty,” Dr. Clark said.

Women in Training’s signature program is the WITKITS® Campaign to provide menstrual products and hygiene items to young, low-income people who menstruate. WITKITS® include menstrual pads, soap, shampoo and conditioner, lotion, deodorant, socks, a journal and a hand-made bracelet with a positive message. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, WITKITS® have also included personal protective equipment, such as masks, gloves and bottles of WIT hand sanitizer.

Dr. Clark’s dedication to the community she serves is testament to her achievements. Jackson Hospital is honored that she is a part of the Jackson team.
