The 30th Annual Charity Golf Classic benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region will be held on Wednesday, October 21 at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club.

“Every year, BGCRR offers a wonderful opportunity for people who love the game of golf to help kids… simply by doing what they already love. We’ve been told that this is one of the best golf tournaments in the city,” said Johnny Robertson, board member and chair of the golf tournament.

Since its inception, the tournament has raised more than $1,000,000. The funding from this event will help support the programs and services at our three Boys & Girls Club locations: West End, Chisholm and Mt. Meigs. The Club currently serves more than 1,200 youth in the River Region. The Clubs serve children ages 6-18 where they enjoy athletics, educational games and opportunities, computer lab activities, arts and crafts, special events, and many other activities.

The tournament provides an opportunity for companies and individuals to participate in an event that benefits the children of Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region. You can get involved in several ways. Either you or your company can select a level of sponsorship from one of our three categories. These include: “Eagle Sponsor” at $1,500; “Birdie Sponsor” at $1,250; “Par Sponsor” at $1,000. You could also organize a foursome to play golf for $700 or we could add you to a group for $175 per golfer; Raffle Tickets - $10. The day includes a lunch, golf fees, many great awards, goody bags and pictures with coaches fore kids. Nearly 150 golfers will enjoy a fun and relaxing day of golf during this year’s tournament.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the River Region has played an integral role in our community for 70+ years, providing daily programs and services to approximately 1,200 young people each year. The Clubs are open Monday through Friday during non-school hours with programs in the arts, citizenship and leadership, health and life skills, sports, and educational activities with an annual membership fee of $5.
