Arts Council launches new creative opportunity for Montgomery

The Arts Council of Montgomery will hold the first of its M.A.K.E. & TAKE workshops Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Armory Learning Arts Center, 1018 Madison Ave. Beginner to advanced levels are welcome. 

M.A.K.E. (Montgomery Arts Kreative Event) & TAKE participants have the opportunity to experiment with various art forms during instructor-led workshops. At the workshop’s conclusion they will have a finished piece of art they personally created to take with them. 

“The Arts Council of Montgomery works to provide unique artistic experiences to members of our community so we are excited to offer this new program,” said Arts Council of Montgomery Executive Director Danae Morgan. “It’s an excellent opportunity to learn a new skill and explore your creative side.” 

Participants may choose from the following workshops at the first M.A.K.E. & TAKE April 13:

·         Abstracted Landscape - Instructor Alisa Koch

·         Modern Mosaics - Instructor Enid Probst

·         The Raku Experience - Instructor Chris Greenman

·         Thorn of the Rose Basic Self-Defense – Instructor Debbie Baxter Robison 

Participants must be at least 16 years old (8 for self-defense). Class size is limited. Those interested should register as soon as possible at www.artscouncilmontgomery.org. Workshop fees include supplies and snacks.
